Just like Jesus taught us to love one another, you show that love every day in the way you help, teach, and care for us. ⛪✝️ WELCOMING OUR NEW POPE - our school communities join with the wider community throughout the Diocese of Parramatta and Sydney’s west in celebration of the election of Pope Leo XIV. 🤲 It was with great joy today that we received the news that Cardinal Robert Prevost OSA has been named as the 267th successor to St Peter – with the papal name Pope Leo XIV. Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv, Bishop of Parramatta, welcomed the announcement with prayerful optimism. 🥰 “Pope Leo XIV brings a missionary heart, shaped by decades serving among the poor in Peru. As an Augustinian, he will gift the Church and the world with a deeply contemplative spirit,” Bishop Vincent said. 🕊️ “I have met him on several occasions, as have many of the Augustinians in our Diocese who know him well. Today our teachers spent the day doing professional learning on explicit reading skills and our teaching of them. To make a challenge out of the day they worked in teams and had an Amazing Race theme to engage them in their learning! We look forward to welcoming students and parents back to school for an amazing Term Two tomorrow!
